Lee Satterfield's farewell

On this night, Nanci Griffith announced the retirement of Lee Satterfield, a long-time member of the Blue Moon Orchestra. During the concert, Nanci dedicated "Love At The Five & Dime" to Lee for her farewell performance. Lee is the talented musician who plays guitar, mandolin and "anything with strings" as Nanci would say. Lee's beautiful harmony vocals will also be missed.

During the Blue Moon Orchestra's May 2000 UK tour, Lee Satterfield performed her own song "I Will Not Forget You". We only hope that she has left the BMO to pursue a solo career. If not, we wish her the very best in whatever she may pursue down the road.

Lee Ann Etheridge as the incoming BMO matriarch

Replacing Lee Satterfield is harmony vocalist and rhythm guitarist Lee Ann Etheridge. Lee Ann is married to BMO's drummer Pat McInerney.

Etheridge isn't really new to the BMO as she has performed with Nanci in the past, including the time back in April 1997, when Lee Satterfield had to leave the UK tour to go home to donate a kidney to her mother.

Lee Ann Etheridge was also a guest harmony vocalist on Nanci's latest CD The Dust Bowl Symphony.

On the last tune Going back to Georgia, Lee Ann Etheridge joined Lee Satterfield in finger-snapping and harmony to bring the Chastain Park show to a close. A real crowd pleaser without a doubt!

Be sure to give Lee Ann Etheridge a warm welcome in the upcoming concerts.
